Soldiers stationed at Nahal Oz military base, along the border with Gaza, opened live fire at Palestinian protesters who approached the border fence, injuring four of them, including two seriously. One of the two was critically injured in his head and the other in the abdomen, WAFA reported.
The four were rushed to nearby Shifa medical center for treatment.
Other protesters who were at the scene also suffered suffocation as a result of the Israeli soldiers’ use of teargas.
According to the Health Ministry, more than 1,300 people have been injured by Israeli fire since the beginning of unrest in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Gaza, following US President Donald Trump’s decision last week to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel.
